“If at this moment you simply made up your minds that you were handsome, beautiful, strong, dangerous, powerful, that you knew everything there was to know, you were totally capable in any job that you undertook or any sport you undertook—if you really believed that, and you can believe it, some of your faces would change physically before my eyes.” — L. Ron Hubbard |

“One’s attitude toward life makes every possible difference in one’s living. You know, you don’t have to study a thousand ancient books to discover that fact. But sometimes it needs to be pointed out again that life doesn’t change so much as you. …” “The day when you stop building your own environment, when you stop building your own surroundings, when you stop waving a magic hand and gracing everything around you with magic and beauty, things cease to be magical, things cease to be beautiful. Well, maybe you’ve just neglected somewhere back in the last few years to wave that magic hand” — L. Ron Hubbard |

“Similarly, an individual who is not working in life to remedy or make better the actual conditions which he finds around him is not liable to succeed. And if you want a good definition of success, it’d just be that: a person who can look around him and see what has to be done, what has to be remedied, what’s actual, and then actually can do and does do something about it. And that person is about eighty-four light-years above normal.” — L. Ron Hubbard |

3rd South African ACCThe Road to HavingnessIn seven and a half years, Ron had delivered 22 ACCs, giving a total of 931 lectures going over every aspect of the mind and spirit and mapping a route to higher states. And now, starting on 23 January 1961, Ron would teach the 3rd South African Advanced Clinical Course in Johannesburg. This first and only ACC he delivered in South Africa was also the last ACC he ever delivered. With the breakthroughs of the 1st Saint Hill ACC and 22nd American ACC, HGCs throughout the world were now quickly making Clears. At which point Ron came to the realization that the remaining obstacle in the drive toward broad clearing were the “tough” cases to crack. And where better than South Africa, a country with an active and expanding field, yet a unique set of circumstances: “Cases—South Africa—were the roughest cases in the world by my experience. We had had these cases scattered through Central Organizations and so forth for a long time.” Thus, Ron flew to Johannesburg. With the Johannesburg HGC as his testing ground, over the next two and a half months he oversaw those auditors cracking every case that walked in the door, literally by the dozens. Later Ron commented, “You never saw anything as cocky right now as a Johannesburg HGC auditor.” Here is just a glimpse of the key discoveries covered:

Success from the ACCs:“I’m spending as much time as I can every day on the ACCs, and what’s happening to my case is completely surprising to me. As a student, I’ve never really thought of my own case as an entity or item, and had no clear view of its make-up or arrangement. It was just a fog to get through, when and if it reared its unpleasant little head.

“And the power of the individual alone is going to set him free. Not his symbols, his power. And that power has nothing whatsoever to do with setting up a machine to give him power. It has to do with his native ability—which is very native—to create space, to create energy and do the exact things which you are doing on SOP 8-C*. And those things, when all added up, give him force and power. And when we get down to it finally, it’s the power of knowing a postulate is going to stay where he put it” — L. Ron Hubbard |
